Job – Assistant Branch Manager – Independent Builders Merchant – South East London

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long established and still family run Independent Merchant Group. They have a number of branches strategically located within London and the South East with further growth and the opening of new branches planned for 2021.

PACKAGE: £30k – £38k basic plus discretionary bonus, contributory pension & benefits

COMPANY: Long established and highly regarded Independent Merchant Group supplying Roofing and Building Materials to Contractors and Builders across London and the South East. They have a number of branches but are growing with new branches in new locations planned for early 2021. They still retain the family feel and their staff retention is second to none.

THE JOB: This is a key role working with a small branch based team where teamwork is essential. Although you will take an active role in all aspects of the branch typically sales, order processing, transport and deputising for the manager your main function will be to support the Branch Manager in the operational side of the branch – typically transport, stock, warehouse, H&S etc.

AREA: This is an established and successful branch located in South East London – so typically the successful candidate could live in or around Lewisham, Brixton, Camblewell, Clapham, Dulwich etc.

THE PERSON: You will need to be a flexible team player and able to adapt. It is essential that you have experience working in a Builders Merchant, Roofing Merchant or Building Materials Distribution outlet. You will need to be strong operationally with experience of transport, logistics, warehouse, stock etc within a Builders Merchant or similar distribution outlet.
