A household brand name within the paint and coatings market selling to contractors and covering the North of Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading well established brand on a warm patch with excellent training and development opportunities.

PACKAGE: up to £34,000 basic salary plus bonus of 15%-50% and company car, pension, healthcare, mobile phone, laptop and excellent holiday entitlement

THE JOB: Contractor Sales Manager: You will take over a warm patch which above target and be tasked with selling a portfolio of paints and coatings to the end user contractor market. This will include smaller sub contractors as well as the medium to large painting contractors. There will also be requirement to spend some time with architects, housebuilders and local authorities and housing associations. It is roughly 70% account management and 30% new business. Other responsibilities include:
– Providing first class customer service with a professional commercial ethos
– Reviews the profitability of the customer base and ensure the use of the company’s products are at the forefront of the customers mind
– React to speculative opportunities and identify any areas of growth
– Develop and grow sales using a specific action and business plan and deliver overall territory targets

LOCATION: Field based covering North Scotland postcodes of DD, PH, AB, IV, KW so ideally you will need to be living in the areas of Dundee, Aberdeen, Kirkwall, Inverness, Perth or within easy commute of those areas

THE PERSON: We are seeking a field sales executive with experience selling construction products to main and/or sub contractors. Knowledge of the coatings or paint market would be advantage but it is not essential. You should possess sufficient technical aptitude to be able to understand and communicate product information once given full training. Computer literacy is another prerequisite for this role. Additionally you must be able to demonstrate high level selling, negotiating, communication and presentation skills and be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
