Job – National Sales Manager – Trade Paints to Independent Distributors – up to £75k + bonuses

A true household brand name within the paint and coatings market managing a team of 6 ASM’s focused on selling to the independent distribution market covering national. This is a superb opportunity to join an established and innovative brand on a within a key senior level role.

PACKAGE: up to £75,000 basic salary plus bonus of bonus, company car, pension, healthcare, mobile phone, laptop and excellent holiday entitlement

THE COMPANY: A manufacturer with a great name in the market and with an excellent product portfolio. Due to internal promotion there is an opening for an NSM on the independent distributor arm of the business. This is a key strategic role reporting to the Commercial Director.

THE JOB: National Sales Manager: You will have 6 field sales reports and be tasked with delivering a sustainable and profitable sales growth for the company within the merchants and independent retail markets. You will be looked upon for motivational leadership and direction with key commercial priorities and must win sales negotiations. Additionally, effective communication will form an essential aspect of this role, to aid engagement with your team along with other key internal and external stakeholders. Other responsibilities include:
– Developing strategic direction in line with the wider commercial agenda
– Working with colleagues across commercial channels, as well as cross functionally with marketing and finance to achieve then exceed sales margins, average selling points and volume sales
– Leading, motivating and monitoring team members

LOCATION: Field based covering National but ideally based in the North West of England such as Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Staffordshire or Cumbria

THE PERSON: We are seeking a financially astute and engaging leader with proven sales management success at a senior level working as either an RSM or NSM within both the retail environment. Furthermore, a successful track record in successfully leading large teams who have delivered sustainable profitable growth is essential. Any knowledge of paint, chemicals or coatings would be helpful but is not essential as the client will look at other building product background as long as they understand senior level negotiations with independent distributors / merchants / retailers on a national level.
