A well respected true market leading brand within the paint and coatings market managing a team of 12 ASM’s focused on selling to the independent distribution market covering the South. This is a superb opportunity to join an established and innovative brand on a within a key senior level role.

PACKAGE: up to £62,000 basic salary plus bonus of bonus, company car, pension, healthcare, mobile phone, laptop and excellent holiday entitlement

THE COMPANY: A manufacturer with a great reputation in the market and with an excellent product portfolio. Due to internal promotion there is an opening for an RSM on the independent distributor arm of the business. This is a key strategic role reporting to the National Sales Manager.

THE JOB: Southern RSM: You will have 12 ASM reports with the country split in two. Reporting to the NSM Independent Distributors you will assume responsibility for developing a strategic direction for the Southern region in line the NSM’s wider strategy. Other responsibilities include:
– working in close collaboration with colleagues across Commercial as well as cross functionally with marketing and finance teams
– tasked in achieving then exceeding sales margins, average selling prices (ASP), overall value and volume sales
– You will be looked upon by a direct team for motivational leadership and direction with key commercial priorities and must win sales
– effectively communicate ideas with your team and key internal and external stakeholders

LOCATION: Field based covering the South including London, Middlesex, Greater London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Surrey, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire

THE PERSON: We are seeking a financially astute and engaging RSM with a proven sales management success record ideally in merchant / distribution / retail RTM experience. High levels of sales negation, leadership and customer focus is important and managing more than 5 ASM’s. You will have experience in the construction or building products sector ideally related to decorating sundries, paint, chemicals or coatings but this is not essential. What is more important is that you can prove driving productivity using key measures and analysis to ensure team members success, demonstrate business growth, commercial acumen, creative thinking and ability to develop great internal and external customer relations. Evidence of driving consistent high levels of productivity and success though field based sales teams to deliver sustainable profitable growth is essential.
