Job – Technical Director – Structural Building Products – South West England

Due to unprecedented growth my client is looking to recruit a new Technical Director to head up and manage the in house technical team to ensure the efficiency and compliance of all technical operations.

PACKAGE: Negotiable basic salary (depending on experience) plus company car, hybrid working, contributory pension scheme, BUPA, 25 days holiday, Laptop, IPad & mobile phone.

COMPANY: An innovative European manufacturer of structural building products who have been established in the UK for 20 years. They have enjoyed substantial growth in market share over recent years and sell via specification to the new build and refurb housing sector via specialist distributors and builders merchants.

THE JOB: As Technical Director you will supervise and coordinate all technical activities within the UK. Managing the in house technical team ensuring the highest quality of technical support to both internal and external contacts. You will also ensure compliance with the relevant technical standards and regulations in the UK whilst supporting the sales and marketing teams with the relevant technical support and training. Collaborating with the R&D team you will ensure all products and innovations meet UK technical and regulatory requirements and you will also coordinate all certification for new and enhanced products.

AREA: My client’s UK Head Office is based in Wiltshire so the successful candidate will need to live within sensible commuting distance.

PERSON: Ideally you will come from a similar technical role within the building product sector. Proficient in Part L, U-value and condensation calculations you will be skilled in technical drawing software/AutoCAD & have a strong understanding of building physics. Possessing excellent interpersonal skills you will need to demonstrate effective communication skills including effective written and verbal communication.
