As Business Development Manager you will assume the role of a junior National/Key Accounts Manager – growing, developing, and fostering partnership trading with National and Independent Merchant Groups, Distributors, and Buying Groups.

THE PACKAGE: Negotiable basic salary c£45k plus 20% salary, car allowance, contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday.
THE COMPANY: My client is an established and well-recognised brand – an innovative manufacturer of plumbing and bathroom products sold through Specification, Merchant/Distribution, and OEM channels. Functional and eco-friendly products backed up with excellent technical support and customer service.
THE JOB: Your main focus will be to develop, grow and foster relationships with key Merchant accounts – Both National and Independents/Buying Groups. Working closely with other members of the sales team you will develop customer-specific plans and strategies for sales growth, margin, and business plans. You will be negotiating trading agreements at the highest of levels whilst ensuring all initiatives are rolled out at branch level.
THE LOCATION: This is a field-based role covering the whole of the UK.
THE PERSON: You will need to demonstrate contacts and negotiation dealings within the head office of National Merchants – specifically within the Bathroom or Plumbing categories. As a motivational people manager, you will also need to lead a small team and nurture relationships at all levels. Customer-focused, commercially aware, process-driven & the ability to implement systems are all key attributes to this role.
